An instrument that belongs to your home
Not every musician plays on stage. Most play in a kitchen, a bedroom, or a small workshop after dark. Pati na Khata builds and selects instruments for those spaces — where sound does not need to impress, only to accompany. This is a store for people who want music to be part of daily life, not a performance.
Who We Are
Pati na Khata started as a restoration workshop in a village house. The founders are luthiers and ethnomusicologists who collect forgotten instruments from barns and attics. Their approach is slow: they clean, repair, and sometimes rebuild without erasing the original character. They value honesty over polish — an instrument should show some of its years.
What We Offer
The collection includes mandolins, domras, sopilkas, and rare stringed instruments from Carpathian regions. New stock arrives monthly from small makers who work without electricity in their own sheds. Options range from fully restored vintage (1950s–1990s) to entry-level student models. Every instrument comes with a soft case and a basic tuning guide.
When It’s Useful
- When a child shows curiosity and needs a small, lightweight instrument.
- When a seasoned player wants a backup guitar for travel.
- When a family looks for a joint activity — learning one song together.
- When a songwriter needs an unusual timbre to break a creative block.
- When a retiree picks up music again after thirty years.
Why Choose Pati na Khata
Most shops sell instruments that look perfect but feel sterile. Pati na Khata sells instruments that have lived. Their restoration work is guaranteed for one year. They also trade — bring an old instrument, leave with a different one, pay only the difference. No pressure sales. No jargon. Just a conversation about what you actually need.
