A Day in the Life: Inside Tendercare Learning Centers

by cavgroup88

Have you ever wondered what your child’s day actually looks like after you wave goodbye at drop-off? At Tendercare Learning Centers, we believe that a predictable yet exciting routine is the key to a happy child.

Serving families across St. Louis, St. Charles, and St. Peters, Missouri, our daily schedule is carefully crafted to balance high-energy play with quiet, focused learning. Here is a glimpse into a typical day at Tender Care Learning Center.

Morning: The Foundation of Discovery

The day begins with a warm welcome. We know that mornings can be hectic for parents, so our staff ensures a smooth transition for every child.

  • Creative Free Play: As children arrive, they engage in open-ended play—building with blocks, exploring sensory tables, or “cooking” in our play kitchens.

  • Circle Time: This is where the magic of community happens. We gather to sing songs, talk about the weather, and introduce the “Theme of the Week,” whether it’s “Community Helpers” or “The Wonders of Nature.”

Mid-Morning: Brain Power and Movement

After a nutritious snack, it’s time for structured learning.

  • Small-Group Activities: Our teachers lead age-appropriate lessons in literacy and math. In our St. Charles County classrooms, you’ll see toddlers practicing their colors while preschoolers work on letter recognition.

  • Outdoor Exploration: Weather permitting, we head to our secure playgrounds. Physical activity is vital for gross motor development and, quite frankly, for burning off that famous toddler energy!

Afternoon: Rest and Refuel

A busy morning requires a chance to recharge.

  • Lunchtime: We promote healthy eating habits and social table manners in a relaxed, family-style setting.

  • Nap and Quiet Time: Every child has a dedicated space to rest. For those who don’t nap, we provide quiet activities like looking at picture books or puzzles to ensure everyone stays calm and refreshed.

Late Afternoon: Artistic Expression

As the sun begins to dip, we focus on the “Arts.”

  • Guided Crafting: At tendercare, we aren’t afraid of a little glitter or paint! Art projects allow children to express their individuality and develop fine motor skills.

  • Story Time: We wrap up the core learning day with a group story, fostering a love for reading and improving listening comprehension.

Evening: Transitioning Home

As parents arrive for pick-up in St. Louis or St. Peters, our teachers provide a brief “daily report.” We share highlights of your child’s day, from a new word they learned to a kind gesture they showed a friend.
